Democratic voters in Democratic cities are getting a real good look at the quality of people they have voted into office — for years, in many cases — as these same leaders aid and abet rioting, looting and lawlessness.
And that is especially true in the deep blue enclave of Minneapolis, a city with a long history of police-related incidents run by Democrats who failed to do anything about them and who are now paying the price in the form of wanton destruction.
Or, at least, city residents are.
Following the admittedly unjustified death of George Floyd last month, mobs of angry Leftist protesters did what mobs of angry Leftist protesters generally always do — they burned, they looted, they robbed, they destroyed huge sections of the city including many minority-owned businesses that very likely will never return. (Related: Minneapolis businessman UPROOTING his company, costing city over 50 jobs.)
The latest tally: More than 700 buildings burned, destroyed, or damaged.
But finally, Democrats who run Minneapolis have a solution they say will be the end-all be-all of solutions: Get rid of the police department — not reform it, not reshape it, not reorganize it.
The Minneapolis Police Department has proven themselves beyond reform.
It’s time to disband them and reimagine public safety in Minneapolis.

As if losing hundreds of buildings and thousands of jobs and businesses with police still on the streets isn’t proof enough for city council members that their virtue-signaling is dangerous and will only lead to more chaos.
Or maybe it is.
Because it turns out that silly Leftist city council members aren’t about to leave themselves at the mercy of the wolves like they plan to do with their voters.
As reports note, three city council members are requiring taxpayers to foot the bill for expensive private security contractors using the same old excuse that all hypocrite elected Democrats use: ‘Death threats.’
The City of Minneapolis is spending $4,500 a day for private security for three council members who have received threats following the police killing of George Floyd. A city spokesperson said the private security details have cost the city $63,000 over the past three weeks.
The three council members who have the security detail – Andrea Jenkins (Ward 8), and Phillipe Cunningham (Ward 4), and Alondra Cano (Ward 9)– have been outspoken proponents of defunding the Minneapolis Police Department.
And when it comes to transparency — ‘say, how are you actually spending this money?’ — the same hypocrites don’t want to talk about it.
“I don’t feel comfortable publicly discussing the death threats against me or the level of security I currently have protecting me from those threats,” councilman Phillipe Cunningham told the local affiliate via text message.
Of course not. Why should his taxpayers be entitled to know anything about how their money’s being spent?
Andrea Jenkins, another council member, told Fox9 she’s been pushing for armed private security since being sworn in.
And why is that? Why would anyone want such a dangerous job?
She replied that she’s frightened for her well-being because of an allegedly “large number of white nationalists in our city” and several “threatening communications.”
Really? Fox9 reported: “A spokesperson for Minneapolis Police told FOX 9 the department does not have any recent police reports of threats against city council members. It is possible a report could have been filed confidentially.”
Sure, it’s possible. Just not likely. And let’s make sure we check off another Left-wing threat talking point: “White nationalists.”
For the record, the city council has to approve expenditures such as private security for city council members, and of course, the mayor, Jacob Frey, has to approve. And why wouldn’t he? Frey has his own security detail as well.
Democratic voters in Minneapolis: Don’t keep doubling down on hypocrites who believe security for them is a lot more important than security for you.
