The level of political discourse in America was high during the Obama years, mostly because of all the scandals and also because he was the biggest race baiter-in-chief the country has ever had.
But the discourse has been elevated to new heights since Donald Trump won the presidency, mostly because the Left and the #NeverTrump crowd cannot stand the fact that he punches back whenever he is attacked.
And while conservatives and Trump supporters are happy that a Republican president is finally doing that, his refusal to back down makes them angrier by the day. Even homicidal.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Viborah (Deborah) Anchondo lost a brother and a sister-in-law during the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, earlier this month. Andre was shot and killed as he attempted to shield his bride and two-month-old son from the attacker, while wife Jordan was killed as well shielding their baby.
Following the shooting, President Trump announced he would be traveling to El Paso, which is governed by Left-wing Democrats, in order to visit with survivors and pay his respects. It was the right thing to do. It was the presidential thing to do.
Because they are petty and loathsome, however, Democratic city officials announced that the president of the United States was not welcome there, as if pretending to speak on behalf of all city residents.
Deborah Anchondo was appalled by that and took to Facebook to blast city leaders for their rude and inhospitable behavior in the face of a presidential gesture and tragedy.
She called the Democratic politicians “monsters” and “pure evil” for politicizing the tragedy. (Related: El Paso shooter does NOT blame POTUS Trump, but rather Democrats AND Republicans for mass migration, environmental damage, and favoring corporations.)
“It’s such a shame that two of our local politicians (I refuse to say their names as they don’t deserve it) are saying that our President is not welcome,” she wrote. “I cannot believe how these monsters are using the tragic event to push their political agenda. I lost my brother and sister-in-law on Saturday. My family and I are living a horrible nightmare. The visit from our President will be more than comforting to my family. He will not be here for a political agenda.”
She noted that her brother’s body “was still laying at Walmart” — his remains not yet removed from the scene of the crime — and already the two Democratic leaders were already “blaming our President for this.”
By any measure, she is right. It was the correct thing for the president to do. The shooting wasn’t his fault. And by no means do two politicians speak for everyone, especially in a city as large as El Paso — even if it is a Democrat stronghold.
And in keeping with her post, the family of the deceased met with the president and first lady Melania Trump when they flew into town.
But after taking a photo with the first couple, the family actually began receiving death threats — because to Leftists in America these days, no other political viewpoints other than “Trump sucks” and “America sucks” are permissible.
Just like in the former USSR. Just like in Communist China and Cuba today. Just like in Hitler’s Third Reich.
The U.K. Daily Mail noted:
A picture of the President went viral in the wake of the mass shooting at the Walmart after it showed first lady Melania holding little Paul Anchondo as POTUS smiled and gave a thumbs up.
Among the family members in the photo was the baby’s uncle, Tito Anchondo, a Trump supporter who said he had received death threats.
We had better get a handle on our rage, people of America, or the next you know, we’ll end up killing each other again like we were during our Civil War. Nobody should want that.
